This policy explains what information GolfJournal ("the app") collects, how it is used, and the third-party services involved. GolfJournal is developed by KH Solution LLC.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your email address and a password to create and secure your account. Authentication is handled by our backend provider, Supabase.
Journal content
The text entries, photos, and videos you create in the app are stored so they can be shown back to you. Only you can access your own entries and media.
Voice dictation
If you use voice dictation, your device's speech-recognition service (for example, Google's on-device or cloud speech recognition) converts your speech to text. GolfJournal does not store the audio itself — only the resulting text becomes part of your journal entry, subject to that service's own privacy practices.
How We Use Your Information
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To store and display your journal entries and attachments back to you.
- To generate an AI summary of your entries, when you request one — the text of the relevant entries is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for this purpose.
- To recommend instructional YouTube videos based on issues you mention — search terms derived from your entries (not full entry text) are sent to the YouTube Data API.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for your account, entries, and media.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — processes entry text only when you request an AI summary.
- Google YouTube Data API v3 — used to search for and recommend instructional videos.
- Device speech-recognition service — used only when you use voice dictation.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. There are no ad or analytics SDKs in the app.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a Postgres database with row-level security, so only your account can access your own entries and media. Media (photos and videos) is stored in cloud storage tied to your account.
Data Retention & Deletion
You can edit or delete individual entries and attachments at any time within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at ken@khsolutions.biz; deleting your account permanently removes your entries and media from our systems.
Children's Privacy
GolfJournal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
